Inspector Certificate Types (Classes)

Georgia's Clean Air Force (GCAF) offers one inspector certification training course, which certifies inspectors to test all vehicles subject to an emission inspection. The inspector certification training course includes two-speed-idle (TSI), acceleration simulation mode (ASM2), and on-board diagnostics (OBD) inspections.

Inspector Recertification

A GCAF inspector certificate is valid for two years unless suspended or revoked. The inspector must complete a recertification training class to renew his or her certification before it expires.

Inspectors will be notified by mail to their home address as their license expiration date approaches, at least 60 days before expiration. Inspectors should attend recertification training approximately two months prior to their license expiring. The recertification training is one day and is held at the GCAF training centers located in Kennesaw and Camp Creek.

Training Class Schedule

Class start time for new inspector classes and recertification classes is 9 a.m. Students should arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. to be checked in. No one will be allowed into class after 9 a.m. Classes will end at 5 p.m.

Inclement Weather

In case of inclement weather, watch WSB-TV. If the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) is closed, then there will be no inspector training classes. Contact GCAF at 770.514.6404 to reschedule.
